Art Collection - "Over Looked"
I hope this collection speaks to the woman who needs to be reminded of her less blossomy bits. The parts of her that may not shine and receive the glory, but all the same are just as worthy.
They say the purpose of plant foliage is to receive sunshine and turn it into nutrients providing strength and growth.
To me, this is not only a valuable part of the plant’s design, but infact a crucial piece to the puzzle. For how can our blooms bloom without the processing that goes on in the background by the overlooked parts of the plant.
We too are divine in our design and sometimes the ‘overlooked’ parts of us are actually the foundation of what makes us, us.
I am forever changed by digging into the magic and symbolism of the Coastal Banksia. Speckled along the waters edge and randomly through the burbs, this beauty, with her understated, and sometime disheveled appearance… is easily and often overlooked.
But to me the Coastal Banksia symbolises strength, resilience, beauty and value. I plan to keep exploring her magic and sharing her message with the world because it’s one we can all learn from.
May these simple little banksia stems be a reminder that all parts of you are needed and even the smallest, most insignificant part of you is as worthy as the bloom.
