A Mothers Blessing

Yearning for connection in the lead up to birth and motherhood? You’d prefer something a little more meaningful than the token baby shower?

A Mothers blessing is a beautiful way to walk into this next stage of life feeling supported and enriched by the village around you. Inspired by the traditional Native American ‘Blessing way’, the idea is to  invite the expecting Mother’s tribe to congregate in circle and bless the way ahead for her.

This is a beautiful celebration of the Mumma-to-be as we honour her purpose & presence in this world, bringing a sense of mind, body & soul to the space. We come together, united as her tribe, offering support, understanding and unconditional love.

Sitting in a sacred circle, we’ll engage in a combination of guided meditation, group rituals and most importantly have an opportunity to adorn our beautiful Mother-to-be with blessings of empowerment and connection.

‘Blessing time’, the most special part of the circle is a sacred ritual that graciously requests guests to bring an offering from nature or home. The mother can then collect her gifts and keep them somewhere safe as a visual reminder of everyone’s well wishes during the birth and going forward into this next stage of motherhood. Each guest is given an opportunity to share within circle the meaning behind the chosen treasures and use this as a space to personally send a blessing her way. For example, many women choose a crystal, feather or something special from home. Perhaps they signify strength, wisdom, or trust.

Generally, a Mothers blessing will go for 2 hours and be held in your home or venue of choice. It is a time for the mothe-to-be to sit back and simply enjoy being in the presence of her village, while I lead you through every step of the way. Often your tribe will love to bring a plate of food to share at the end as you all mingle and continue this special time of connection as I pack up and leave you to it.

The feedback I have received has been nothing but positive. Women coming together with love is always going to bring the good vibes. Throw a meditation into the mix and you are bound to walk away floating!

I left feeling so grounded and ready to birth my baby
